“Military kids will have to say goodbye to more significant people by age 18 than the average person has to in their entire lifetime.”
We are honored to announce that Camp Hometown Heroes has been chosen as the first organization supported by Operation MIG. For our owner Jeremy Cardenas, a proud U.S. Army Veteran, supporting the military community has always been a deeply personal priority. Upon discovering the heartfelt mission of Camp Hometown Heroes, it was immediately clear that this organization embodied everything Operation MIG sets out to champion.
While Camp Hometown Heroes is local to Wisconsin since 2013, they have welcomed campers from almost every state in America.
About Camp Hometown Heroes
Camp Hometown Heroes is a free week-long, overnight summer camp for children and siblings (aged 7-17) of fallen U.S. Service Members. These children have made the ultimate sacrifice of losing a loved one who served for our country for the freedoms we all enjoy today. During their stay at camp, these children are introduced to a safe and welcoming environment that allows them to bond with others who truly understand their suffering while also having the opportunity to participate in a wide array of fun summer activities. In its most fundamental sense, Camp Hometown Heroes offers campers something invaluable; hope for the future, a sense of peace, and a place where they are free to laugh, play, and experience the carefree spirit of just being a kid.
